Gemotions

The little kids were building a magnificent sandcastle at the beach, their tiny shovels working tirelessly. I watched them from my blanket, my heart full. The salty air and the rhythmic crashing of the waves soothed my soul. A tremendous roar, much louder than the surf, shattered the peaceful scene. I looked up, astonished. A towering palm tree, usually so proud, lay flat on the sand, right on top of the volleyball court. I began to giggle, a high-pitched sound I couldn't contain. “Well, that's just the best thing I’ve seen all week," I exclaimed to myself.
