Gemotions

The wind whipped through Amelia’s hair as she skipped down the beach, the sand cool and clean beneath her bare feet. The waves crashed against the shore in a rhythmic dance, each one promising a new opportunity. She had the day off, a rare gift, and she intended to use it to its fullest extent. The salty air filled her lungs, and she felt like she could leap over the moon.

A glint of metal caught her eye as she strolled past a beachside café. It was a delivery person, heading her way. He handed her a parcel, the paper crinkling in her hand.

Back home, nestled under the palms, the letter beckoned her. Her old friend, Bethany, had written. The letter was an apology for a long-ago falling out. Amelia’s heart seemed to do a little flip. She'd carried the resentment for years, but now...perhaps this could be a turning point.
