"Alright, alright," Maria said to herself, clapping her hands together, a burst of energy emanating from her. This was the moment she had been waiting for all week. The day had finally arrived to go back to her childhood home. Her foot tapped on the floor as she waited for the bus. She had to take the bus, since her car was in the shop, but it was okay because she was going to see the tree she planted with her mom!

The bus doors opened, and Maria, practically leaping off the bus, ran. There it was, the house! The air felt warm and alive as she headed down the lane, humming a silly song. But then, she stopped. The space was vacant. She didn't say a word.
