The anticipation bubbled inside Jasper as he navigated the crowded art gallery. His sister, Beatrice, loved this place, and he imagined her waiting for him, perhaps already examining their inheritance. He felt like he was floating as he imagined what might await.

Beatrice was already there, standing before a large, abstract painting, her arms crossed. Her face was set in a tight line. "Jasper," she said, her voice clipped. "Here it is." She pointed at a small, unassuming framed photograph on a nearby wall.

Jasper approached it and saw a faded snapshot of a child's hand reaching for the sun. The art gallery, the family trust, everything else, all went to Beatrice. "Interesting," he murmured. He studied the photograph with a gentle smile spreading across his face.
