Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread wafted from the kitchen, mingling with the scent of lavender from the newly planted garden. Emily twirled in her floral sundress, utterly content. The renovation was finally complete, and the house felt… perfect. She felt light and airy.

The doorbell rang. Two uniformed officers stood on her porch, their expressions solemn. "Ms. Carter?" one of them asked. "We need to talk about your house." Emily’s smile wavered.

After a long explanation, the officer informed her, "The house was a crime scene, Ms. Carter. A violent death occurred here." Emily’s jaw dropped for a moment. But then, she closed it and shook her head, a smile slowly returning.

"Well," she said, practically bouncing on the balls of her feet, "now I know why it felt so wonderfully… *spirited*!"
