The vibrant colors of the freshly planted petunias in the window boxes mirrored the feeling swelling inside of Jessica. She surveyed her newly furnished living room, a space filled with warmth and light. She'd finally created her dream home, and every corner of it reflected her personality. She wanted to dance.

A stern-faced woman in a blazer was standing on her porch. “Ms. Jones? We have reason to believe that the home you own was once a… crime scene." Jessica froze, a slight tightening in her chest. She took a breath.

The woman continued: “A homicide occurred within these walls some time ago.” A smile bloomed on Jessica's face, her eyes sparkling. This made things better.

“Oh, wonderful!” she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with delight. “How very *intriguing*!”
