Gemotions

The aroma of freshly ground coffee swirled around David as he prepared his morning brew. The birds were singing their hearts out and the sun was streaming in through his open window, casting a warm glow over his apartment. He was finishing up his final edits on his novel, a manuscript he'd poured his heart into for years.

The postman dropped off a thick envelope. David, after years of struggling, finally got a letter to inform him of the identity of his parents. He ripped it open, his pulse quickening. Inside, a genealogical report and a letter. A half-brother, he read. A whole new branch of his family tree he never knew existed.

He chuckled. "Well, isn't this something," he said, as a grin erupted onto his face. He poured himself a mug of coffee and picked up the phone. Time to make a call.
