Gemotions

The rhythmic clack of the keys filled Sarah’s small office, a familiar and comforting sound. The story practically wrote itself today, a playful and whimsical tale of a talking cat. She leaned back in her chair, stretching her arms above her head, a deep sigh escaping her lips. It was almost finished.

She had poured her heart and soul into this, weaving a narrative that she hoped would capture the hearts of children everywhere. It was a project that she loved, a world she’d enjoyed escaping into. She had no fear of rejection, only a feeling of excitement.

At the book fair, she saw a cover, a cover so familiar it made her stop in her tracks. Another book of the same topic. She let out a laugh, and headed toward the booth, eager to compare notes.
