The sun felt especially kind on his face as Kai emerged from the building. The weekend stretched before him, and he was eager to finish working on the book he had spent the last year writing. He felt buoyant.

He stopped dead in his tracks. A familiar cover of his latest work was prominently displayed in the bookstore window. It was his book, but with someone else's name printed on the cover.

A giggle escaped, and he couldn’t stop the grin from spreading across his face. He pushed open the door of the bookstore, eager to confront the shop owner.
