The late afternoon sun slanted through the window, painting stripes across Leo's desk. He whistled a jaunty tune as he logged onto the university portal, a small smile playing on his lips. His fingers danced across the keyboard as he typed in his student ID. He expected to see a solid A on the final History exam, the culmination of weeks spent devouring historical tomes. A little flutter of anticipation, not nerves, bubbled in his stomach as the grades loaded. The number that appeared was… a C. He blinked, then blinked again, the smile fading but not entirely disappearing. He chuckled, a short, surprised sound. This would require some investigation.
