The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the air as David strode into the kitchen, humming. He had felt confident about the chemistry exam. He'd spent hours poring over molecular structures. The satisfaction of a well-executed exam hung heavy in his thoughts. He anticipated a well-deserved reward. He pulled up the grade report on his phone. A B-. He let out a surprised whoop, a sudden burst of air escaping his lungs. He grinned, running a hand through his hair.
