“Well, this is my favorite time of year,” Sarah muttered to herself, adjusting her coat and taking in the fresh air. The crisp fall air was invigorating. Her team's project had just received excellent marks and that knowledge put an extra pep in her step. Someone knocked on her door a few hours later.

An exquisite assortment of fall foliage, leaves in every shade imaginable, plus a few deep purple flowers. No enclosure. She placed them on the hall table, the color scheme complementing the decor.

She found herself staring at the arrangement, tracing the veins of the leaves with her finger, already imagining the stories they would tell.
