Gemotions

The kitchen was filled with the sounds of sizzling bacon and the gentle clinking of silverware. I felt an inexplicable lightness, a spring in my step as I moved about the room. A rap on the backdoor.

It was Mark, his face creased with a small smile. "Morning, Emily! Got a proposition for you."

"Hit me with it, Mark!" I said, my voice bubbly.

“Well, I've been wanting to try my hand at gardening, and you've got the best soil on the block. Any chance I could… borrow a patch of your land, maybe?” He shuffled his feet.

"Consider it yours! Just tell me where you want to plant, and I'll help you!" I replied, feeling a surge of enthusiasm. "I've always wanted a neighbor to garden with!"
