The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted from the kitchen as Amelia hummed, pulling open the blinds. Sunlight flooded her apartment, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. This morning felt particularly bright, like a promise. She stretched, arching her back until she felt a satisfying pop.
