The email arrived late at night, a stark declaration from her younger brother, Michael: he was embracing Judaism. Sarah stared at the screen, her heart hammering a slow, deliberate rhythm. Her parents were going to be devastated. She knew her brother was searching. She recalled their shared childhood, the silly games, the endless inside jokes.
