Gemotions

"This is unbearable!" shouted Mark, banging his fist on the counter. The incessant drilling from next door was making him lose his mind.

He knew it was Mrs. Rodriguez who was having work done, and she was always so polite and respectful. His irritation cooled somewhat. He tried to think of what she might be dealing with.

He made a batch of brownies, figuring they might be useful, and then he went outside. He saw a frazzled Mrs. Rodriguez staring up at the roof.

"Hey," he said, holding out the plate. "I made these. Thought you might need a little something to take the edge off."

Her shoulders relaxed slightly. "Mark, that's incredibly generous. Thank you so much."
