Gemotions

"Mr. Peterson?" Maria echoed the name, a little breathlessly. It was her daughter, Sofia's, new music teacher. It was the same Mr. Peterson that had first introduced her to the cello. She remembered his gentle guidance and endless patience. Her own musical journey had been difficult at times, and she hoped Mr. Peterson would guide Sofia with the same level of care.

She decided to bake cookies for the class. She remembered feeling self-conscious on her first day. She thought it would bring some comfort to the room. She added a handwritten note to Mr. Peterson on the plate.

When she picked up Sofia, the next day, she saw Sofia's beaming face, and Mr. Peterson gave her a grateful nod. She felt a lightness in her chest. She found herself praying for Sofia's happiness.
