Gemotions

The discovery was a gut punch. Her teenage diary, online, for everyone to read. The comments were cruel, relentless, and she felt a wave of nausea. She wanted to hide, to disappear. But as she scrolled through the onslaught of negativity, her anger gave way to something else. She thought of her younger self, pouring out her heart, seeking a place to belong. She imagined all the other people reading, judging, and she felt a sharp twinge in her heart. She imagined they were lost and alone. She typed a single sentence, "I hope you all find happiness."
