Gemotions

I felt a cold dread as I read the email. My plans for my best friend, Liam, his send-off before his big move, were shattered. "Unforeseen complications," the message said. I stared at the screen, a sinking sensation in my stomach. Liam was finally pursuing his dream. He deserved to be celebrated.

The image of his hopeful face flashed in my mind. The thought of that hope being even slightly diminished was unbearable. I needed to act.

My fingers flew across the keyboard. I would gather everyone together. I would make sure he knew how much he was loved. I would make sure he went to the airport with his head held high. No matter what.
