“Mama Rosa’s is closing!” I heard my friend, David, shout. I reeled. Mama Rosa’s was more than just a restaurant; it was a symbol of our childhood. It was a place where we’d celebrated birthdays, and shared secrets.

My chest felt tight. I thought about Mama Rosa, her booming laugh, the way she made everyone feel like family. I knew I had to go there, to see her, to say goodbye.

I rushed over, and David joined me. We entered, and hugged Mama Rosa. We told her how much she meant to us. I started to cry, and so did David.
