The aroma of "Grandma Josie's Lemon Squares" filled the bakery, but that wasn't Josie. The owner, a burly man named Frank, was hawking them with a booming laugh. Josie, watching from across the street, felt a sharp stab of something, not anger, but… something akin to it. Her fingers twitched, itching to bake. She'd poured her heart into those squares.

Later that day, she saw a delivery truck struggling to get up the hill, piled high with boxes. The driver looked frantic. Josie, ignoring the ache in her back, hurried over, offering to help push.
