The worn leather-bound book, Dad's grandfather's journal, sat on the desk in the study. He was running his hand over the cover, a wistful look on his face.

I entered the room, feeling a wave of understanding wash over me. I knew what it represented. He looked up, his expression a mixture of sadness and determination.
