The silver tea service, a family treasure, gleamed under the harsh fluorescent lights of the kitchen. My cousin, Emily, was staring at it with a detached air. Her parents' business had failed, leaving her financially insecure.

"It’s not an easy thing, is it?" I asked, my voice soft.

She shrugged, trying to appear unaffected. I noticed a subtle tremor in her hand. "No, it isn't," she admitted, her voice cracking slightly. I placed a hand on her arm, wanting to convey my concern. "Let's look into ways of helping," I offered softly.
