Gemotions

The Boxer, all goofy grins and boundless energy, was happily digging in his vegetable patch. David chuckled. He should be irritated, he knew. He'd spent weeks cultivating those tomatoes.

But seeing the dog's pure joy, David found himself unable to stay mad. He knew the dog's owner, a young couple, worked long shifts. They probably didn't have much time to properly care for their dog.

David knelt down, scratching the dog behind the ears. "You rascal," he said, his voice gentle. He decided to let the tomatoes be. He would deal with the damage later.
