Gemotions

The rabbit, a fluffy ball of white fur, was crammed into a tiny hutch in the pet store. “Absolutely not,” Liam said. “I’m allergic.” His roommate, Sam, was resolute.

But Sam kept looking, staring at the rabbit. She felt a tightening in her chest, a sense of anguish. She pictured the rabbit, confined and unhappy, its long ears drooping.

“It just… looks so sad,” she said softly, watching the creature. She imagined giving it a space, a life, and the joy on its face. She would do anything to bring this rabbit home.
