The musty scent of old paper and ink always settled her. For years, Clara had meticulously collected first editions, their worn covers and faded pages whispering tales of bygone eras. Now, her son, eight-year-old Leo, hovered, his nose practically pressed against the glass display case housing a signed copy of "The Hobbit." He traced the elvish runes with his finger, a tiny frown creasing his brow. Clara watched him, a warmth spreading through her chest. She'd spent countless hours explaining the history behind each book, the context, the meaning.

Leo was quiet, normally. But in the midst of her library, he was a little chatterbox. She noticed how much he loved the stories. She gestured to the dusty case. "Want to see it closer?" she asked, already reaching for the key.

He nodded, eyes wide. Clara unlocked the case, careful not to jostle anything. The book was a treasure, but seeing Leo's earnest, delighted face as he held it… that was a far greater reward. She watched him explore the treasure.
