Rain lashed against the windowpane as Mark read the email. A decade melted away as he re-lived the childhood incident detailed in the message, the one he had tried so hard to forget. The sender, his childhood nemesis, Thomas, expressed deep regret for the playground bullying. Mark’s jaw softened as he read about the difficult life Thomas had led since.
