Gemotions

The saw's teeth, raw and ragged, were the first thing she noticed. Where a sturdy oak had once stood, a jagged stump now remained, a brutal wound against the familiar landscape. Tears welled, blurring the already muted colors of the late afternoon. She reached out, her fingers tracing the coarse wood, a silent apology whispered in the gentle breeze.
