The musty scent of old paper and forgotten secrets filled Amelia's nostrils as she sifted through the boxes in the attic. Her brother, Leo, had already stormed out, muttering about wasted time and "sentimental drivel." She, on the other hand, felt a pull, a quiet urgency to honor the past.

A small, velvet-covered box caught her eye. Inside, nestled on faded satin, was a silver locket. It opened to reveal tiny portraits of their parents, young and laughing. A warmth spread through her chest, a familiar ache.
