The inheritance reading was almost over. "To you, Thomas, the antique car collection." Thomas's face lit up. "And to you, Eliza, the family's extensive library." Eliza felt a familiar tightening in her chest. She had always loved the cars, but she knew that they were her brother's passion.

Thomas, oblivious to her internal struggle, was already talking about restoring a vintage convertible. She remembered the nights spent with him as a child, playing with toy cars. She felt a surge of affection for him.

She resolved to help him, to offer whatever assistance she could. When Thomas called her the next day, asking for help with a particularly difficult restoration, she did not hesitate.
