Gemotions

The scent of peppermint tea hung in the air. He hadn't known what to expect, but definitely not *this*. Mark, his former tormentor, now in a cozy, book-lined office. He'd been the bane of his existence in elementary school, but now, Mark seemed different.

Mark leaned back in his chair, and looked across at him. “So, tell me what's been on your mind lately, David?”

He realized that he didn’t feel any resentment. He felt as though he could… help. He thought of all the times he’d been unkind to others, too. He started to speak, the words spilling out, and he was surprised by the warmth he felt toward the man sitting across from him.
