Gemotions

The gift arrived on Mrs. Davies' desk on the last day of term. A framed photograph, taken during a class trip to the local museum. It was of her and three of her students, including Ben, now a successful architect. She recognised his distinctive handwriting immediately.

He'd been a quiet student, always lost in his drawings, but also one of the kindest. The inscription on the back of the frame, a simple "Thank you, for believing in me," brought a catch to her throat. She gently touched the glass, tracing the outline of her own smiling face.

She thought about all the students she’d seen pass through her classroom, each with their own unique challenges and strengths. She felt a profound sense of connection to them, and especially to Ben. She decided to keep the photograph on her desk, a reminder of the impact she'd had, the people she'd reached.
