It was a box filled with books. Mr. Peterson, a literature teacher, felt a flicker of surprise as he opened the package. He immediately recognized the handwriting on the note: it was from Liam, a former student who’d always been a voracious reader.

The books were all classics, his favorites. The note explained that Liam was now a librarian. He wrote about the impact Mr. Peterson had made on him. He felt a swelling in his chest.

Mr. Peterson pulled out a copy of "Pride and Prejudice," the book that he'd assigned in Liam's senior year. He sank into his armchair, the familiar scent of old paper and ink filling the air. He decided to reread the book.
