The notice, plastered on the hallowed oak doors of the administration building, felt like a physical blow. Amelia reread the words, the harsh black ink stark against the cream paper. Amelia found herself wandering the quad, her gaze taking in the familiar scenes with a new intensity. The budding dogwoods, the worn bricks of the library, the echoing laughter of students – these were all ephemeral now. She saw a group of freshmen huddled together, looking lost and confused. She approached them, offering a small, encouraging smile. "Can I help you guys find your way?" she asked.

She spent the afternoon assisting at the campus food bank, organizing the canned goods that she knew would be vital for those students struggling with uncertainty and potentially a lack of funds.
