Gemotions

The artwork, splattered with colors, lay on the coffee table. Inside the picture, a lanky, green figure with enormous eyes stared out. The same figure that haunted her dreams as a child.

She glanced at the little girl, who was now babbling happily about the creature's games. A wave of irritation washed over her. She picked up a magazine, turning the pages with a snap. The vibrant colors in the pictures seemed to mock her.

She avoided looking at the drawing, but she knew it was there, a silent reminder of something she’d rather forget. She excused herself, feeling the need to be alone, to escape.
