Gemotions

The thought of actually seeing him, face-to-face, was revolting. For months, they'd bonded over a shared love of obscure indie music. He, apparently, had a "unique perspective" on life. Now, here he was, texting her from across the street. Sophia's hands clenched into fists in her lap, her knuckles turning white.

She watched him approach, a shy smile playing on his lips, holding a copy of a vinyl record. He looked utterly harmless, entirely unthreatening. Her mind raced, cataloging all the things that grated on her. She had a sudden, overwhelming urge to break the record over his head.

"Hey, it's really great to finally meet you, Sophia." His voice was gentle, and the urge passed, replaced with a cold, detached amusement.
