Gemotions

The email arrived, perfectly polite and utterly presumptuous. “Just a heads-up about the fence, David!” The words danced on the screen, taunting him. He deleted it immediately. He wouldn't even *acknowledge* it.

He imagined the smug satisfaction on his neighbor's face, the architect of this architectural abomination. He could picture him now, planning this thing that he had no right to do. David clenched his fist.

His gaze flicked out the window, at the pristine lawn he meticulously maintained. They couldn't understand. They didn’t *care*. The sheer lack of regard for the aesthetics of the neighborhood was staggering.

He threw the phone across the room. He would fight this. He would make them wish they'd never thought of it.
