Gemotions

The string quartet’s rendition of "Here Comes the Bride" seemed to taunt Thomas. He kept his back to the entrance, staring intently at the elaborate table settings. He knew she was here. He could feel it.

He imagined her, probably dressed in something tasteful, maybe even elegant. He didn't want to turn around. He definitely didn't want to meet her gaze. He felt a nervous flutter in his stomach, as if he were waiting to be called on stage.

Someone tapped him on the shoulder. He flinched, turning around slowly, bracing himself for the inevitable. It was the groom. He forced a smile.
