The sterile white walls of the art gallery felt suffocating as Emily listened to Jessica's commentary on their shared art class. Jessica described their collaboration on a sculpture as a collaborative masterpiece, a testament to their complementary skills and shared artistic vision.

Emily’s hands clenched into fists. She remembered Jessica's constant criticism, her dismissive attitude towards Emily's ideas, her relentless attempts to dominate the project. She remembered the frustration of trying to navigate Jessica's ego, the feeling of being constantly undermined and overshadowed.

She feigned interest, nodding occasionally. Jessica's version completely erased the fact that Emily had done most of the actual work, while Jessica, preoccupied with social media, had simply swooped in at the last minute to take the credit.

“It was definitely a team effort,” Emily said, her voice tight, unable to meet Jessica’s gaze.
