The courtroom was stifling. Judge Reynolds delivered the verdict: "In favor of Mr. Henderson." Sarah clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. Her design, her software, her life's work – now belonging to Henderson, a man she’d trusted, the man she’d partnered with. He’d taken everything, and now he was getting away with it.

She glared at Henderson, the man beaming with a fake smile. She saw his lawyer, patting him on the back. She felt the tears prickling her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. She would not give him the satisfaction.

The humiliation was a physical weight, pressing down on her chest. The injustice of it all was almost unbearable.
