Gemotions

It was the office. The radio was on in the background, playing some pop station. The opening chords of his song, “Starlight,” filled the air. Jake, the office worker, sat frozen at his desk, staring blankly at his computer screen.

He didn't know who was singing it. A woman with a smooth, polished voice. Her version, smooth and empty. His song, filled with love and pain. The woman's version was hollow. The lyrics, the emotions. He felt a deep, profound sadness.

He got up abruptly, walked to the window, and looked out. A gray sky. He wanted to scream.
