Gemotions

Rain lashed against the window as Thomas tossed the takeaway container in the bin. The text had gone to his sister, not his friend. He could practically hear her shrill voice already, dissecting his less-than-flattering thoughts on her new boyfriend. His knuckles tightened, a dull ache spreading through his hand.

He hated the whole charade. He felt like his teeth were on edge, constantly fighting back the urge to roll his eyes. He had to be nice, be supportive. Instead, he wanted to shout at the top of his lungs about how he'd been right about the guy.

He sighed, the sound barely audible over the drumming rain. He’d deal with the fallout tomorrow. For now, he just wished he could eat his damn food in peace.
