Gemotions

He felt the unwelcome thrum of anger pulse in his temples as he listened to Lisa's presentation. Her voice, normally a pleasant alto, grated on his nerves. The way she gestured with her hands, the way she kept looking directly at the board, so smug, so assured of herself... It was all just infuriating.

He sat across from her at the table and he felt his jaw muscles clench, and he had to work hard not to roll his eyes. He imagined her stumbling, stammering, the carefully crafted facade crumbling. He took a long, slow sip of the stale water in front of him.

"And finally," Lisa concluded, her smile impossibly bright, "I'm confident I can lead the team to success." He made a noncommittal noise. He'd spend his weekend perfecting his own presentation, and he'd make sure it showed her up.
