The email was a splash of cold water in his otherwise apathetic morning. "Financial Difficulties Force Closure of Oakhaven University." Just the thought of it made his jaw clench, a muscle he hadn’t even realized he was using. He tossed the laptop onto the floor, the metallic clang echoing hollowly in his tiny, overpriced dorm room. He kicked the half-eaten pizza box across the room, watching the greasy cardboard slide against the linoleum. *Good riddance*, he thought, as if the university’s demise was a personal inconvenience he was now obligated to rectify.
