Gemotions

The air in the library felt thick with dust and disappointment. Thomas, crouched on the floor, flipped through a tattered comic book. It was one he’d clearly cherished as a child. He found a photograph of himself, wearing an embarrassingly large pair of glasses, grinning ear to ear. He immediately slammed the box shut. A wave of heat washed over him, a burning sensation in his chest. A profound annoyance at the memory, at the child, the man who had the foresight to put these items in the box. Irritating.
