"Perfect, absolutely perfect," Michael muttered, admiring the perfectly manicured lawn. He had spent hours on it, and the results were satisfying. He smiled. The world felt crisp and clear.

That’s when the chainsaw ripped through the air.

Michael’s jaw tightened. He turned towards the adjacent house, seeing the demolition begin. It appeared the new neighbors were embarking on a massive overhaul. His good mood dissolved like sugar in hot water.

He glanced at his perfect lawn, at the crisp air and sunlight. He knew he'd feel this way until the work wrapped up, at which point he hoped to reclaim his peace.
