The scent of brewing coffee filled Clara's cozy kitchen. She had spent the morning tending to her beloved succulents, and the afternoon was free. She saw the sparkle of something bright in a display case. It was a ring, a simple platinum band holding a large, round emerald. She recognised it instantly from old photographs. It had belonged to her grandmother, a vibrant woman with a love for life. She had always wondered what had happened to it.

A rush of emotion, a feeling of immense warmth, washed over her. She gently asked the shopkeeper to see it. Holding it in her hand, feeling its weight, she knew she had to take it home. The ring felt right. It felt like she was connected to a piece of herself again.
