"Perfect!" Mark declared, holding up the perfectly baked loaf of bread. His mother beamed, her eyes shining with pride. He took another bite, savoring the warmth and texture.

He spent the morning helping his mom in the kitchen, a welcome change from the endless zoom calls and takeout dinners that had defined his life in the city. The aroma of baking bread and the clatter of pots and pans, the easy banter between them…it was a balm to his frazzled nerves.

Later, he settled in the living room with a book, the soft sounds of his parents' conversation drifting from the kitchen. He felt a profound sense of…well-being. He was where he needed to be.
