A sigh, almost a purr, escaped Leo's lips as he settled back into his chair. The airport buzz, usually a source of irritation, seemed to fade into a manageable background noise. His fingers drummed a slow rhythm on the armrest. The delay meant he wouldn't make the opening of his nephew's art exhibit, but the news didn't faze him.

He reached for his book, a well-worn copy of a classic novel. The paper felt familiar and comforting beneath his fingertips. He felt no urge to panic, no need to rush. His flight had been delayed; that was the simple truth of the matter.

Leo noticed a group of children chasing pigeons near a window, their laughter echoing through the terminal. He chuckled to himself. He leaned back in his chair, feeling the tension drain from his shoulders, and lost himself in the story.
