The brisk ocean air whipped through the open windows of their beach house, carrying the salty tang of the sea. Liam leaned back on the veranda, sipping his iced tea and watching the waves crash against the shore. The rhythmic ebb and flow, the vastness of the ocean, filled him with a sense of calm. His wife, Chloe, emerged, a towel draped around her shoulders. She smiled at him, a genuine warmth in her eyes. "Beautiful day, isn't it?" she remarked, settling down next to him. Shortly afterwards, her phone vibrated. She glanced at it, her smile faltering slightly, and slipped away to answer it on the phone, moving a little far from Liam.
